    DISTRICT-WIDE INITIATIVE

    School supplies.
    Every student.

We believe no student should walk into the first day of school without the tools they need to succeed. By buying in bulk, we provide every student in the district with their basic supplies for just $10 a year.

    Sponsor a Student — $10
    01

$10 × every student in the district

Every Chanute family is invited to sponsor their own student for $10. That fills the basic supply pool — backpacks to binders, pencils to paper. Bought in bulk, distributed to every classroom.

    02

    Community donations fill the gap

For families who can't afford $10, community members and local businesses cover the gap. No student goes without — that's the whole point. No one is ever turned away.

    03

Anything beyond goes to teacher classrooms

When the basic supply pool is fully sponsored by families, community donations — and our annual Garage Sale — flow straight to teacher classroom funds. For the extras that make a classroom feel like home.

"That's the magic of $10. It doesn't just buy supplies — it unlocks more."

$20 a year. To support the whole district. That's the deal.

    THE PROCESS

    How it works.

    01

    Bulk Purchasing

The Foundation purchases basic school supplies in bulk for every student in the Early Learning Center, CES, CMS, and CHS. Buying in bulk means better prices — and better supplies.

    02

    Direct Distribution

Supplies go directly to the Early Learning Center, CES, CMS, and CHS — ready for students and teachers on the very first day.

    03

    Community Sponsored

We ask families to sponsor their child for just $10. For families who can't, community donations cover the gap. No student is left out.

    THE IMPACT

    A $10,000 annual commitment.

We spend about $10,000 per year on supplies and we raise exactly that amount through community support. Every dollar raised stays in the schools.

#communitytogether — Your $10 sponsorship ensures every student starts the year on equal footing.

    QUESTIONS

    The basics.

    Q: How does this work?

You donate $10 per student, we purchase all the supplies at a discount in bulk, and deliver them directly to classrooms and teachers to be used as needed throughout the year.

    Q: How do I sponsor my student(s)?

You can donate online through our 'Give' buttons, scan the QR code on our flyers, or drop off cash/check at the USD 413 BOE office on Main Street.

    Q: What if I can't afford the $10 sponsorship?

Don't worry. We encourage families to donate any amount they can, but community members and local organizations also donate to cover the gap. No student is ever left without supplies.

Q: What about middle or high school students?

Yes — CMS and CHS are both fully covered. Every student in the district gets the basics: pencils, paper, folders, calculators, the works. The only thing we don't provide at the middle and high school level is individually preferred organizing items (specific planners, binder styles, color preferences). Those personal touches are still on families.
